Dance Recital

I can't believe we haven't kept up better with this! (Ha!) Boy, does life take over! This weekend was what I now phrase "Dance Recital Weekend". Started Friday after school--3 hair up-do's and then off to the first "concert". Great performance! The girls did a great job and Kevin and I felt overall it was one of the best we have seen. Saturday's two performances--2:00 the full recital again and the Middle School and High School Gala at 7:30. Really enjoyed the Gala--first time attending that but will be for probably the next 5 years and then we will see what Natalie wants to do. That would put her at the "Gala" age group also, so possibly for the next 10 years!!! Oh, my--the dad's dance was to Cinderella (the song)--what a tear jerker for mom! Beautifully choreographed and performed. Graduation weekend also--hated missing Seth's and Allison's since we were dancing.ONLY 10 DAYS OF SCHOOL LEFT!!!! Can't believe how fast the year goes by.

Keeping things interesting!

Kevin managed to keep things interesting--last Wednesday night he complained of not feeling well. I thought he was coming down with the flu. Well, from 6:00 pm (eating supper) to 10:00 pm things got a lot worse. I had gone to sleep with Nat because I didn't want to catch what he had and he called for me about 10:00. I took him in to the hospital--first thought it was a kidney stone, but after a urine speciman, blood work, x-ray and CT scan, they determined at 2:00 AM that he needed his appendix out. Things moved fast after that! They took him in for surgery at 3:00 AM and brought him back to the room at 4:30 AM--I went home about 5:30 since he was doing fine and sleeping--got about an hour of sleep and got the girls up at 6:30 to get ready for school. They couldn't believe all that happened while they were sleeping--thanks to neighbor Marlys for checking on them. We stopped so the girls could see dad before they went to school. When I returned to the hospital about 9:00 he said he was ready to go home--the nurse told him he needed to do 3 things: pee, walk and eat. Well, he got right on that! Had to wait to eat until 11:30 when they brought his lunch. By 1:30 we were checking out of the hospital and by 2:00 we were home! Since then, he has been doing great! NO PAIN what so ever!! Sure glad it all turned out that way!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe another year has ended and we are ready to embark on 2010. I'm wondering if people will say "Twenty Ten" or "Two thousand ten". Does it seem like we just celebrated 2000? We had a quiet evening at home last night with some friends over. It was fun just sitting around and talking and watching the kids play Mario Cart. Lucky even got into it and wanted to be a part of the fun. The new kennel is going back since I discovered he can jump out of the top! Good thing I noticed it before turning in for the night or who knows what we would have woken up to this morning.

Today we are going to do a little work at Kevin's new office this morning and then off to Heidi's for the the afternoon of fun with the cousins. I still need to get to school and get some work done for the upcoming weeks. Guess that will be tomorrow morning. The older girls spent New Year's Eve with grandma and grandpa. The took the Monopoly along but haven't heard what they did. Hope they didn't wear grandma and grandpa out.

Well, everyone make those New Year's Resolutions--but try to be realistic and keep them (better than I usually do). Mine: Read my Bible more and exercise more.
